As a StepBeyond client, Volex prides itself on its proven expertise and manufacturing prowess, providing custom wiring and cable harnesses, power cords, duckheads, and other related power products to a wide range of sectors.
As a Senior Field Application Engineer for EV Connectors, you will play a crucial role in identifying and engaging prospective clients in the EV space. Your technical expertise will be instrumental in developing product-level drawings and documents to meet customer expectations.
Collaborate closely with the core engineering team, contribute to design and development activities, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Your efforts will steer opportunities towards business wins and sustaining technical support.
Identify prospective clients in the EV space and promote Volex's value proposition
Capture performance and technical requirements from customers
Coordinate with internal engineering teams for product development
Provide technical engagement and support to the sales team
Lead the design and development of Volex EV products
Contribute to Volex's roadmap development and market diversification
Conduct applications engineering training for sales teams
Serve as the direct FAE to support business opportunity development
Evaluate and advise on core engineering talent and skill level
Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
Deep product & application knowledge in EV products
Expertise in automotive standards (e.g., USCAR and SAE)
Proficiency in CAD software (PTC CREO/Solidworks)
FEA simulation experience (ANSYS)
Understanding of EV vehicle architecture
Competitive landscape awareness
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work with inter-regional teams
Project management abilities
Experience with manufacturing processes and cost-saving ideas
